ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ presents endless opportunities for students to gain leadership, problem solving, collaboration and teambuilding skills. Through dozens of campus organizations and activities, students hone lifetime skills essential for any industry or field of study.


Student clubs and activities also offer students opportunities to connect with ÂÜÀòÔ­´´â€™s surrounding communities throughout Reading and Berks County. Through service, engagement and leadership, students learn indelible lessons outside the classroom.


Campus activities and organizations are among the many ways in which ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ students gain real-world experience, contribute to more than 60,000 hours of community service each year, and help the university remain deeply anchored within its communities.

The ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ Dance Company provides an opportunity for students who love dance to pursue their interest in an accepting, flexible and positive environment. Our organization is open to dancers of all levels of capability in all styles of dance. Our performances have ranged from solely dance to performing with the theatre, chorus and/or orchestra. While performing is completely optional and up to the dancer's comfort level, we are open to, and encourage, dancers to work on their own dance pieces including solos, duos, and group pieces. Our advisor Jessica Warchal King and president Sara Baker are always more than happy to work with dancers to fulfill their dance dreams.

The purpose of ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ DiscipleMakers is to provide a safe environment where faith in God can be found and fostered to transform lives. As a group of students we want to dig into God's word together through weekly Bible studies and fellowship. We focus on one book of the Bible a semester. Our desire is to learn how to read and study the Bible, so that on our own time we have the resources and ability to read it daily, be able to apply it to our lives, and then go share with others.

The purpose of the ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ Student Nurses Association (ASNA) is to aid in the development of the nursing students’ integrity through their professional role and responsibility for the holistic care of all people, enhance their academic and professional growth in nursing education, promote a greater understanding of the nursing profession throughout the university and the community and develop nursing leadership skills. ASNA fulfills this purpose by connecting undergraduate nursing students with state and national-level student nursing conventions, nursing-related community service opportunities and monthly meetings with all levels of the nursing program.

Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD)

The Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity is designed to support occupational therapy students to work together to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within occupational therapy education programs and in the profession. The chapter’s aim is to create opportunities and resources that foster open conversation and increased awareness of different lived experiences to increase cultural humility.

Criminal Justice Association

The Criminal Justice Association of ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ is made up of criminal justice majors, forensic science majors and other students interested in the criminal justice field. The club focuses on all aspects of the criminal justice system, including law enforcement, probation and parole, the court system, corrections, victims and forensic science. In addition to meeting regularly, the club engages in various community activities and service projects, organizes trips, and brings in outside speakers.

Friends of Animals Organization

Friends of Animals Organization is an advocacy organization that is motivated to help animals in our local area. We partner with shelters to volunteer and learn how to be better friends to animals through events, meetings and community service.

The ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ Chapter of FBLA-Collegiate, the institution's general business club, allows members to attend conferences and participate in competitive events that improve their business and professional career. FBLA prepares its members to enter business and business-related fields. Several components of the chapter are essential in establishing the personal success of the membership, including the chapter advisor, the activities of FBLA-Collegiate, and, most importantly, the students.

Hooked on Helping

Hooked on Helping seeks to encourage an appreciation of knitting and crocheting among the ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ community, while providing opportunities for community members to learn these skills and to create projects that will be donated to those in need. This also allows for a creative and engaging way to earn community service hours to meet the graduation requirement. There is no requirement to know how to knit or crochet — we can teach you.

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

Lambda Sigma Society is a national honor society for sophomore students in any major dedicated to the purpose of fostering leadership, scholarship, fellowship, and the spirit of service among college students. Only those first year students who have placed in at least the top 35 percent of the class academically and who have shown evidence of leadership during their first year are selected to participate.

The Outdoor Adventure Klub (OAK) provides opportunities for leadership and team-building skills through participation in outdoor adventures. Our goal is to welcome students with the same common interest and build relationships revolving around the outdoors. OAK runs outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, snowboarding, white-water rafting, kayaking and much more. We also plan service events such as volunteering at Bog Turtle Creek Farm, Schuylkill River Trail Cleanup and more.

The Society for Human Resource Management acquaints students seeking careers in management, human resource management or labor relations with current issues and trends in these fields. Our Superior Merit-winning student chapter is recognized locally by the Berks County SHRM Chapter. Sponsorship affords our students networking opportunities with professional chapter members during monthly meetings. The professional chapter also helps to sponsor events such as our on-campus job fair. Student members have been participants in various community events such as Toys for Tots, Road Run, MADD fundraisers and the chapter's annual Animals Need Food, Too campaign.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee allows student-athletes representatives from each of our 24 varsity sports to have a voice in the NCAA at the campus, conference, and national level. This committee is made up of student-athletes who work together to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and offer input on the rules and regulations that affect them.

Student Government Association acts as a liaison between the administration and the student body of ÂÜÀòÔ­´´. Members of the executive board and senate are elected through a campus-wide election. Members of the council of presidents are the presidents of all active Registered Student Organizations (RSO).

Student Occupational Therapy Association

SOTA is an occupational therapy club that explores all areas of the OT profession while also creating a great network within ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ and the local community. We have frequent meetings and events that are stress-free and enjoyable, while also educating our members on different aspects of occupational therapy. Our members consist of all class levels and even graduate students, so students are able to build connections and ask questions to other students. Some examples of what we do at meetings are guest speakers, interactive games and crafts, movie nights, field trips, and yoga. We are active in the local community by volunteering with many local organizations and holding many donation drives. Our goals are to create a strong community of students at ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ who work closely with faculty, other students, and the local community; to hold events that reflect the interests of its members; and to advocate for the occupational therapy profession.

Theatre Club

ÂÜÀòÔ­´´'s Theatre Club is a small, yet tight-knit group of ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ students, staff and local community members that bond over a shared love of all things theater. If you don't want to participate in our one main stage production per semester, you can still get involved with other smaller performances, including student-directed one-act plays, cabarets, theater-affiliated events and much more.
