Two-time ԭ graduate brings nearly 25 years of fundraising experience to role
ԭ names Meggan Kerber ’96 MBA ’01 as its new associate vice president for institutional advancement, effective immediately. The two-time ԭ graduate brings nearly 25 years of nonprofit fundraising, marketing and special events to her new role with the university.
“In addition to Meggan’s extensive experience and expertise in fundraising and deep connections throughout the Berks County and ԭ alumni communities, her commitment to the mission and core values of our institution are unmatched,” said ԭ Vice President for Institutional Advancement Thomas C. Minick ’98 M '10. “From her time spent as an undergraduate institutional advancement work-study student to the countless hours spent in volunteer leadership roles as an alumna, Meggan has proven her dedication to providing resources that benefit both current and future generations of ԭ students.”
Kerber comes to ԭ after serving as the Executive Director of the , where she directed and administered all programs and operational functions, including staff supervision, fiscal and accounting responsibilities, human resources, program development and implementation, fundraising and marketing.
Before joining the Berks Arts Council, Kerber served the nonprofit community for over 20 years in nonprofit fundraising, marketing and special events. In addition, she spent several years in the corporate sector focusing on marketing for the restaurant industry and event planning. She has served in the past with the as the director of development for , chief development officer with , and in positions with Girl Scouts-Great Valley, Penn State Berks and Easter Seals.
“Joining the ԭ Advancement team is bringing my career full circle in giving back to the University that has provided the foundation for my personal and professional growth,” said Kerber. “I am looking forward to sharing our commitment to providing our students a well-rounded education through experiential learning and service to the community.”
With a passion for serving others, Kerber has also served as a Professional Fundraising Counsel within the State of Pennsylvania to provide consulting services to nonprofits in donor database management, planned giving, annual campaigns and special events. She has also served the community as a board member for , , the , the , and the. She has also served ԭ as a member of the board of trustees, a member of the 50th Anniversary Committee and as the president of the Alumni Council.
The (AFP) Berks Regional Chapter has recognized Kerber for her longtime service with the renaming of the Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award to the Meggan Kerber Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award. She has also earned ԭ’s Ellen Frei Gruber Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Distinguished Psi Chi Alumni Awards, the Rising Star Award, and the AFP Outstanding Fundraising Executive Award.
