Biography
Dr. David Shoup is the Dean of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics and is an associate professor of mathematics. His research work focuses on applied mathematics and optimization theory. He has collaborated with colleagues and students on nutrition, chemistry, criminal justice, biology, and leadership studies projects. The resulting publications have led to presentations and recognition at regional and national conferences.
As an educator, Shoup prides himself on his ability to connect with students from all mathematical backgrounds. He has been awarded the ÂÜÀòÔ´´ Teaching Excellence Award for his effectiveness and innovation in the classroom.
Shoup holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from The George Washington University, an M.A. in mathematics from The University of Maryland, and a B.S. in mathematics from Lehigh University.
